Simple Ways To Make Sure Your Holiday In Turkey Is Hassle Free
If you are lucky enough to be able to take yourself and your family away on a Turkey villa holiday this year, then we all know just how stressful the planning, booking and travelling stages can actually be, which can impact the first part of your holiday as you struggle to relax after a tough few weeks.
After working hard for so many weeks of the year, a week or two in sunny climates is often the perfect de-stress and relaxation tool that many of us need, with day after day of sun, food, drink and nothing much more to do. The perfect holiday rarely happens, as things do crop up, but when it comes to making sure your holiday in Turkey this year is as hassle free as possible then there are things that you can do to try and make this happen.
With so many airlines flying to so many places it is easy to assume that you will be able to book a seat or two at the last minute, maybe hoping to save a few pounds as airlines try to fill empty seats. Whilst this might be a valid tactic if traveling alone or if there are many other flying options to your destination, if you are flying with a family then it is usually best to make sure your seats are booked well in advance of when you are travelling. Booking very early often also guarantees you some decent discounts as well, so it does make sense to confirm your place on the plane by booking up a few months ahead of the game, as seats are not usually released much further in advance than this.
Although having a passport is a must for overseas travel, the amount of people that assume theirs is still in date but when they check a week before they are set to go and realise it expired a few months or more ago is unbelievable, as when your little red document is sat in the drawer for a couple of years then you often just assume it is ok. Passports need to be renewed every 10 years for an adult and 5 years for a child, so never just assume that your passport is in date and valid as if you do make the major error, it can take up to sixteen weeks for a new one to be approved and arrive. Losing your passport or not having a valid passport is easily one of the biggest reasons people miss their flights or holidays, so make sure yours is safe and legal and this will be one less stress to worry about.
The other parts of your overseas trip should be taken care of in advance as well, especially when it comes to your travel insurance and your travel currency money. You should make sure that you have adequate travel insurance in place and that you also have your EHIC card as well, as both of these combined will make sure that should you need medical treatment when on holiday in Turkey, you will not be coming home to a bill that could potentially end up in the thousands. If you have travel insurance with your bank, make sure you ring them and check the insurance is valid and still covers what you need, as you should never just assume that your insurance is ok just because it’s provided through your bank, as the cover might not even be correct for your latest needs and requirements.
You should also think about getting your travel money sorted as well, as if you leave it to the last minute then not only might you get a poor rate, but you might even forget it all together and exchanging money abroad rarely works in your favour in terms of the exchange rate and how much you will get for your Pound.
Our final tip is to make sure you have sorted everything at home. Get the pets booked into the kennels or cattery early and make sure that your family or friends know where you are going and have some contact numbers just in case. Turkey is a fairly big country so even if they know the resort you are going to, phoning around every hotel to find you in an emergency is not very plausible or fair on your loved ones. Give them the number and address of the hotel you are staying and make sure that if possible, you have someone to keep an eye on your home to make sure it is safe and sound. Lock all the doors and windows, double check and the off you go.
Have a great holiday in Turkey and we hope it is hassle free and the perfect solution to a very hard working year!
